Germanwings co-pilot practised crash on another flight!
According to the German newspaper Bild; The Germanwings co-pilot who deliberately crashed a plane in the French Alps in March 2015, killing all 150 people on board, put the aircraft into a descent on the previous flight. The Black box recordings from the doomed flight suggested that Andreas Lubitz locked the captain out of the cockpit before putting the plane into a controlled descent en route from Barcelona to Düsseldorf on 24 March 2015. The BEA, France’s air accident investigation agency, is expected to publish an interim report on the crash on Wednesday morning. Bild, citing sources close to the inquiry, said the report would reveal that Lubitz had practised reducing flight altitude on the outbound flight the same day as the crash.
The preliminary report found that Lubitz put the Airbus A-320, operated by the Lufthansa subsidiary Germanwings, into “a controlled but unjustified flight descent for several minutes”. According to Bild, the report suggests Lubitz may have wanted to crash the plane on its outbound journey from Düsseldorf.
Anger at inequality drives S.Africa xenophobic attacks....!
High unemployment (24.3%) and a failure to address growing inequality are to blame for a wave of anti-immigrant attacks in South Africa, say analysts. We believe that the cause of the xenophobic attacks is policy failure by the government,” said Mienke Mary Steytler, of the South African Institute of Race Relations. “High unemployment and inequality are not being tackled.”
The violence has left some dead and more than a thousand displaced since the beginning of the month, with attacks spreading from the east coast city of Durban to parts of the economic hub in Johannesburg. And in 2008, 62 people were killed in xenophobic violence across the city’s townships. "It is the hopelessness that results from unemployment that drives drug use and criminality in these communities, and underlies xenophobic attacks.”
The current outbreak has been largely blamed on a speech last month by King Goodwill Zwelethini, traditional leader of the Zulus, in which he blamed foreigners for South Africa’s high crime rate and said they must “take their bags and go....”!
A Guide To South Africa's Economic Bubble And Coming Crisis....!
As Africa’s wealthiest major economy, South Africa has played a key symbolic role in the emerging markets boom that has transformed the global economy in the past decade. Unfortunately, like most other emerging economies now, South Africa is experiencing an economic bubble that shares many similarities to the bubbles that caused the downfall of Western economies in 2008. Though South Africa has received a significant amount of attention after its currency fell sharply in the past year, there is still very little awareness and understanding of the country’s economic bubble itself and its implications.
The emerging markets bubble began in 2009 after China embarked on an ambitious credit-driven, infrastructure-based growth plan to boost its economy during the Global Financial Crisis. China’s economy immediately rebounded due to the surge of construction activity, which drove a global raw materials boom that benefited commodities exporting countries such as Australia and emerging markets. Emerging markets’ improving fortunes attracted the attention of international investors who were looking to diversify away from the heavily-indebted Western economies that were at the heart of the financial crisis.
Record low interest rates in the U.S., Europe, and Japan, along with the U.S. Federal Reserve’s multi-trillion dollar quantitative easing programs, caused $4 trillion of speculative “hot money” to flow into emerging market investments over the last several years. A global carry trade arose in which investors borrowed cheaply from the U.S. and Japan, invested the funds in high-yielding emerging market assets, and earned the interest rate differential or spread. Soaring demand for emerging market investments led to a bond bubble and ultra-low borrowing costs, which resulted in government-driven infrastructure booms, dangerously rapid credit growth, and property bubbles in countless developing nations across the globe. The emerging markets bond bubble helped to push South Africa’s 10-year government bond yield down to a record low of 5.77 percent after the global financial crisis.... visit this link: http://www.forbes.com/sites/jessecolombo/2014/03/19/a-guide-to-south-africas-economic-bubble-and-coming-crisis/

South African Platinum strike wages, politics & the ANC's false Boogeymen!
As the platium mining strike edges towards it's sixth month, hope has now dwindled that a resolution will be found anytime soon. The brief intervention by the Mineral Resources Minister Ngoako Ramatlhodi ended without his being able to bridge the impasse between the Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union (AMCU) and mining companies Lonmin, Anglo American Platinum and Impala Platinum.
While the country grapples with the question of "Now what"? there should be consideration given to what this strike represents and why the ANC believes there is something sinister behind it.
